Hoi An - Hue Adventure Loop 4 Days
Set out from Hoi An on a four-day motorbike journey through the mountains, historic battlefields and coastal landscapes of Central Vietnam. Covering approximately 640 km, this rewarding loop follows quiet rural roads into the Truong Son Mountains before joining legendary sections of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Ride through remote highland communities and dramatic mountain passes to Prao and Khe Sanh, then explore important sites within the former Demilitarized Zone, including Hien Luong Bridge and the Vinh Moc Tunnels. The journey continues to the imperial city of Hue before turning south along the coast.
Brief Itinerary
Day One
Hoi An - Prao ~ 150 Km
Hoi An Motorbike tour begins as we traverse traditional rice paddies to Cham Tower and other historically significant sites. The Ho Chi Ming trail leads us to a thundering waterfall, offering a refreshing swim. Venturing into the highlands, we engage with an ethnic minority community, which serves as our friendly host for the night in Prao.
Day Two
Prao – Khe Sanh ~ 180 Km
Riding through the elaborate jungle and mountain trails of the Ho Chi Minh trail, we pass ethnic minorities and distinctive on-stilt houses. Stopping at Co Tu, a Pa Co minority village, we absorb exciting insights into their lives. Traversing Vietnam's striking passes, experiencing unparalleled natural beauty and primitive forests typical of the Truong Son mountain range, we reach Khe Sanh for an overnight stay.
Day Three
Khe Sanh via Demilitarized Zone – Hue ~ 160 Km
We travel the Highway 9 to Carol Camp and rock piles, visiting the famous Hien Luong Bridge and Vinh Moc complex of tunnels. Exploring sites within the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone, including the Complex of Tunnels, we then conclude the day in Hue for an overnight stay.
Day Four
Hue – Hai Van pass – Hoi An ~ 150 Km
We begin this day by riding to Elephant Springs for tranquility and a refreshing dip, followed by a stop at Lang Co bay for lunch located near the Hai Van pass with its breathtaking views. Exploring caves at the Marble Mountains, visiting mountainous pagodas, and witnessing hand-made sculptures, our bike tour concludes in Hoi An, leaving us with a trove of fantastic memories and experiences.
